SPRING AND SUMMER SPORTS

It is that time for all spring and summer sign-ups.  Go to www.saintmaryacademy.com and click on the Athletics tab at the top of the page and follow the link for the sports sign-up page.  If they are not listed yet, please check back on the website.  If you have any questions, the sport and the sport coordinator are listed below.  The contact information for all sport coordinators is listed in the school directory.  Some of these sports go deep into the summer and you can check the sports season length and tournament dates at www.loucsaa.org/calendar.pdf.

*Fielding a team for Baseball and Girls Softball depends on the amount of sign-ups we receive as we do not usually have enough to field a team. Baseball and girls fast pitch softball are for 3^rd graders and up.

COACHING SPRING, SUMMER AND FALL SPORTS

Anyone interested in coaching the above sports, football, volleyball, and cross country should contact the appropriate sport coordinator which is located in the school directory.  Per SMA athletic board bylaws, all coaching positions are decided on a year to year basis based on their application.  Per archdiocesan policy, all coaches must pass a background check, attend the SAFE environment training, and complete watching the “Coaching for Life” video located at www.loucsaa.org.

Saint Mary Academy offers the following athletic programs for students:

• Girls:  flag football, volleyball, cross country, cheerleading, basketball, soccer, softball, golf, tennis, swimming, field hockey, and track.
• Boys:  flag football, football, basketball, volleyball, soccer, cross country, tennis, golf, swimming, and track.

Girls and boys may participate in the inter-school leagues established by the Catholic School Athletic Association (CSAA). Members of the parish volunteer to coach the teams. All teams and squads are open to students of Saint Mary Academy. Fees assigned by the Saint Mary Academy Athletic Board and paid by those participating in the sport finance the purchase of equipment and uniforms and pay for league franchise fees.
